Voy de Vacaciones (I'm going on vacation)

Pull out a map of the Americas
or a world globe.

Practice vocabulary to describe
places (i.e. north = el norte,, south = el sur, east= el este, west= el
oeste, hot= caliente, cold= frio, rainy= lluvioso, mountains= las montanas,
ocean= el oceano)

Parent asks: ¿Adónde
vas? [ah-dohn-day bahs?] Where are you going ?

Child responds: Voy a
un lugar ______________. [boy ah oon loo-gahr
________], filling in the blank with a description of that location where
child plans to vacation. For example :

Voy a un lugar al norte
..I
am going somewhere north
-
Voy a un lugar al sur
..I
am going somewhere south
-
Voy a un lugar al este
..east
-
Voy a un lugar al oeste
west

Voy a un lugar donde es caliente
..I
am going somewhere where it is hot

Voy a un lugar donde es frio
..I
am going somewhere where it is cold

Voy a un lugar donde es lluvioso

am going somewhere where it is rainy

Parent guesses the location
based on the description. If the location is guessed correctly, one
point is earned. Parent and child switch roles for continued play.
