Arroz con leche
(Rice with Milk)

Ingredients:

  • White rice
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Can sweetened condensed milk
  • 5-6 Cloves Milk
  • Sugar
  • Lemon/Orange Rind (Optional)
  • Raisins (Optional)
  1. Cook rice, approximately 1½ cups, with little oil, a cinnamon stick and the cloves. Season with a little sugar (as if it were salt).
  2. Once the rice is cooked, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves. Incorporate milk alternating with sugar until a slightly sweetened and moist.
  3. Add lemon/orange rind and raisins.
  4. Add sweetened condensed milk a little bit at a time, tasting to make sure it is not overpowering.
  5. Refrigerate.
  6. If the arroz con leche seems a little dry after being in the refrigerator, add some milk and stir, before serving to moisten it up again.
