Arroz con leche
(Rice with Milk)
Ingredients:
- White rice
- Cinnamon Stick
- 1 Can sweetened condensed milk
- 5-6 Cloves
Milk
- Sugar
- Lemon/Orange Rind (Optional)
- Raisins (Optional)
- Cook rice, approximately 1½ cups, with little oil, a cinnamon stick and the cloves. Season with a little sugar (as if it were salt).
- Once the rice is cooked, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves. Incorporate milk alternating with sugar until a slightly sweetened and moist.
- Add lemon/orange rind and raisins.
- Add sweetened condensed milk a little bit at a time, tasting to make sure it is not overpowering.
- Refrigerate.
- If the arroz con leche seems a little dry after being in the refrigerator, add some milk and stir, before serving to moisten it up again.
