Battleship
-
Each player makes two grids
on a sheet of paper. (fold paper in half vertically – 5 columns by 5 rows
per grid) The bottom grid is for the player's ships, and the top
grid is to track hits and misses from attempts the player has called out
to his or her partner.
-
Both the player and his or her
partner should have the same five categories in the same order on their
grids, vertically and horizontally. For example, the five columns
at the top of the grid may have written words or pictures for items of
clothing, and the five rows at the left side of the grid may have written
words or pictures of a particular color, etc. The top grid and the
bottom grid should match as well.
-
3 ships of varying lengths are
then penciled in on the player's bottom grid, i.e. 1 occupying 2 spaces,
1 occupying 3 spaces, and 1 occupying 4 spaces.
-
The player calls out a clothing
and color combination (for example - la camisa blanca), and the partner
verbally indicates the results of the guessed location. Nada = nothing,
Tocado = hit, Hundido = sunk In the upper grid, the player
should mark the results accordingly ( Nada = a circle in that square of
the grid, Tocado = an "x" in that square of the grid, Hundido = an "x"
in that square of the grid as well as a line through all "x"'s in that
particular ship.
-
As the player's partner calls
out clothing and color combinations, the player must indicate the results
of the guessed location in the same manner as noted in item 4. Then,
they must also track the hits to their own ships in the lower grid.
Small check marks may be placed above portions of ships that have been
hit for example.
-
Play continues until one player
has lost all of his or her ships.
