The ESP's mission is to bridge cultural barriers, educate young children, and prepare them for life in our world community through teaching Spanish.

¿A Qué Hora Haces Esto?

  1. Using index cards, have your child draw one daily activity per card.  For example, eating breakfast, going to bed, going to school, playing with friends, etc.
  2. Make a clock out of paper, with moveable hands attached in the center by a brass clasp that opens flat after piercing the center of the hands and the clock itself.
  3. Have your child draw a card from the deck you have made.  Ask your child ¿A qué hora haces esto? [ah  kay  hohr-ah  ah-sace  ehs-toe?]  (What time do you do this?)
  4. The child should indicate the time by moving the hands on the clock and then respond in Spanish by saying:  a las _____.  [ah  lahs  ______ (a number indicating the hour).
  5. The goal is to get through as many cards as he or she can in a specified length of time.
