The ESP's mission is to bridge cultural barriers, educate young children, and prepare them for life in our world community through teaching Spanish.
¿A Qué Hora Haces Esto?
-
Using index cards, have your
child draw one daily activity per card. For example, eating breakfast,
going to bed, going to school, playing with friends, etc.
-
Make a clock out of paper, with
moveable hands attached in the center by a brass clasp that opens flat
after piercing the center of the hands and the clock itself.
-
Have your child draw a card
from the deck you have made. Ask your child ¿A qué
hora haces esto? [ah kay hohr-ah ah-sace ehs-toe?]
(What time do you do this?)
-
The child should indicate the
time by moving the hands on the clock and then respond in Spanish by saying:
a las _____. [ah lahs ______ (a number indicating the
hour).
-
The goal is to get through as
many cards as he or she can in a specified length of time.
